United States-based basketball star Oluchi Okananwa has expressed her desire to represent Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, D’Tigress, in the future.

The 22-year-old guard, who currently plays for Maryland Terrapins women’s basketball, confirmed her intention amid an outstanding season in the United States.

Okananwa is enjoying a career-best campaign, averaging 18 points per game and 5.5 assists, while shooting an impressive 52 percent from the field numbers that have underlined her rapid development and growing influence on the court.

Her potential commitment is seen as a significant boost for Nigeria, as D’Tigress continue to strengthen their squad with top talents from across the globe.
