In a landmark intervention aimed at expanding access to higher education, a businessman and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Prince Dr. Olatunji Olusoji, has announced the sponsorship of 1,000 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) scholarships for prospective candidates in Kogi West Senatorial District of Kogi State.

The initiative is being implemented through the Prince Olatunji Olusoji Foundation (PROOF) and is targeted specifically at young Nigerians from less-privileged backgrounds.

The scholarship scheme is designed to remove financial barriers that often prevent brilliant but indigent students from pursuing tertiary education. By covering the cost of JAMB registration, the programme offers beneficiaries a critical first step toward achieving their academic and career aspirations.

Speaking on the initiative, representatives of the Foundation, Otunba David Arowolo, noted that Dr. Olusoji remained deeply committed to education as a powerful tool for personal empowerment, social mobility, and sustainable nation-building. “No young person should be denied the opportunity to pursue higher education because of financial constraints,” the statement read.

The PROOF has consistently demonstrated its dedication to human capital development in Kogi State. Over the years, it has supported underprivileged children with educational opportunities, provided learning materials, and extended assistance to families in need.
