Vietnam Offers Scholarships To Nigerian WAEC Candidates

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced scholarship opportunities from the Government of Vietnam for Nigerian students who have successfully passed the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) examinations in its National University International School for 2024 -2025.

A statement on Monday by the Federal Ministry of Education via its official X page (formerly Twitter) urged Nigerian students to take advantage of the “valuable” opportunity.

The scholarship, titled: “Vietnam National University-International School (VNU-IS) Scholarship Programmes For Academic Year 2024-2025,” encourages Nigerian students to take advantage of this valuable opportunity.

The scholarship according to the announcement, offers various levels of financial support to the benefiting students.

According to the ministry’s statement, the scholarships include the Vietnam Scholarship Program with 100% tuition fee coverage for 5 students; the Hanoi Scholarship Programme which offers a 50% tuition fee reduction for 8 students; the International Student Scholarship Programme where the first semester’s tuition fees is waived for 12 students.

Eligibility for these scholarships is based on the GPA score in the SSCE/WAEC examinations while selected students will have the chance to renew their scholarships annually based on their academic performance.

The statement also said shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the university for online interviews.
This announcement follows other recent scholarship opportunities publicised by the Federal Ministry of Education such as the MTN scholarship for the 2024 academic year, an Italian Government scholarship for postgraduate studies, and a Romanian scholarship for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
