Vigilantes Arrest Kidnapper, Recover Items In Kogi

The Kogi State Vigilante Service has confirmed the arrest of a Kidnapper at Upake village in Ajaokuta Local Government area of Kogi State.

The public relations officer of the Vigilante service, Idris S. Idris, said the suspected Kidnapper, Lucky Itopa, was arrested as a result of credible intelligence.

He added that Itopa had kidnapped Yesufu Ahmadu in the same community and allegedly collected a ransome of Six million naira before she was released.
The statement read in part said

“On 5th November, 2025 about 05:00hours, at Upake village, Ajaokuta Local Government Area (LGA), Kogi State Vigilante personnel of Ajaokuta command, acting on intelligence apprehended one Lucky Itopa, who was on the run after reportedly kidnapping one Yesufu Ahmadu in the same community about three weeks ago .

“Lucky, had released the victim after collecting a ransom of six million naira (#6,000,000) from the family, which he squandered to purchase unspecified number of Android phones one (1) brand new motorcycle, one Senwei electric generator and lavished the balance on alcohol, hard drugs and commercial sex workers in the locality.

“Lucky and the recovered exhibits have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Adogo Division for further investigation and prosecution.”

Reacting to the operation, the Comptroller General Kogi State Vigilante Service, Sani Omeiza Ibrahim (Rtd), according to the statement, praised the diligence of the personnel, reiterating the determination of KSVS to apprehend the kidnappers, wherever they hibernate in Kogi State.

He appreciated the state governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for encouraging and supporting the state owned security agency in the campaign to reduce the crime wave to the barest minimum.
