Benue State governor, Hyacinth Alia, has said the engagement of women in his administration was way above the global 30 per cent affirmative action target.
Alia said it was an indication that his government was ensuring that mothers had a strong voice and representation in decision-making.
He said from economic empowerment programmes to healthcare initiatives, his government was dedicated to supporting mothers as their strength and resilience is a source of motivation to work harder.
The technical adviser to the Governor on Media, Publicity, and Strategic Communication, Chief Solomon Iorpev, in a statement yesterday to observe Mother’s Day, said Governor Alia acknowledged the tireless efforts of mothers in shaping families and communities.
The statement noted Alia administration’s commitment to empowering mothers through initiatives that promote economic growth, healthcare, and social welfare.
“Today, we celebrate the incredible mothers of Benue State and beyond! Your love, care, and sacrifices inspire us all. Thank you for all you do. You are valued, cherished, and celebrated. I assure you that my Administration is committed to making you proud. Happy Mother’s Day,” the statement said.
