Abia State governor, Alex Otti has said his administration intends to revive the moribund Aba Textile Mill Plc, and the Star Paper Mill Ltd both in Aba to create jobs for the people.

Otti stated this while speaking at a social event in Aba, the business hub of the state, expressing worry over the prolonged shut-down of the business organizations.

His word :”We’re negotiating with the people that acquired the textile mill. We want to return it back to life as soon as possible.”

“As a government, we are interfacing with the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria. We also want to acquire the paper mill and bring it back to life as well.”

“These are industries that were set up by our visionary fore-fathers. So, if we can’t do better than them, we can’t explain why we’re in this world.

The governor, who described the situations of the mills as a challenge that must be confronted, solicited the support of the people for the intention.
