Kitovu Technology Company has said it embarked on the ongoing farmers’ enumeration exercise in Abia State to make them globally visible for quality services and to maximise their value chains.
Chief executive officer of the company, Emeka Nwachinaemerem, stated this while speaking to LEADERSHIP Sunday in Umuahia, the state capital, saying the exercise was different from previous ones.
He said what they were building would be dynamic and not just once and they would provide an infrastructure that would sustain the exercise.
He said, “The project is just beyond data enumeration. First, it’s about collecting data and second building a digital infrastructure that’ll allow that data to be processed.
“This data will form the foundation to support them with other digital tools. For instance, because a farmer’s farm is marked, that farm is automatically connected to global satellite.”
He further explained that there were several companies that are setting up businesses in the South East that would need of such data for their smooth operations
“They’re in different value chains and want to diversify their supply chains But there’s no way for them to know the distribution of farmers who produce what they need So this data will crate visibility,” he said.
