The League of Northern Democrats (LND) has intensified meetings with former presidents and heads of state from the North.
This comes as the group has fixed November 12 and 13 2024, as the dates to hold the Northern Nigerian Summit in Kaduna.
The group said the summit has two main objectives: to serve as a fulcrum around which to knit Northern unity, security and leadership, and, to proffer viable northern solutions to the existential challenges facing the northern region in three key areas – disunity, insecurity and poverty.
This was the outcome of a meeting of the group held in Abuja on Wednesday.
Recall that the LND was recently formed to find solutions to the security, social and economic challenges in the region.
However, a source in the group said its leaders have been reaching out to former heads of state from the region to support their mission.
This source told LEADERSHIP yesterday “We have commenced a visitation to all presidents heads of states from the North.”
However, according to the statement after their meeting, signed by its convener, Dr Umar Ardo, and its secretary, Hon. Emmanuel Jime,
