Whoopi Goldberg Explains On-Air Why She’s On Epstein Files

The name of the famous American actress Whoopi Goldberg has appeared on a long list of high-profile personalities mentioned at least once in the Jeffrey Epstein files released by the Department of Justice in the United States.

The View Co-host tackled the issue head-on, explaining why her name appeared on the notorious list during Tuesday’s episode, shortly after introducing reality star Savannah Chrisley as a guest panellist for the rest of the week.

Goldberg declared that her name was mentioned in an email exchange between Jeffrey Epstein and a redacted individual. The email was mainly about an attempt to find a private plane for Goldberg to fly to Monaco for an event hosted by Julian Lennon’s charity, the White Feather Foundation.

At some point in the show, Goldberg asked producers to show the email that listed her name and invited audiences to read the document. With the email coming up on the screen, Goldberg tactfully stated, “Now, in the name of transparency… my name is in the files.”

She went on to read the message out loud, “Whoopi needs a plane to get to Monaco… Julian Lennon’s charity is paying for it. They don’t want to charter, so they’re looking for private owners. Here’s the info.”

“And they give all the information, and they’re saying, “Do you want to offer your G2?”

Following this disclosure, her co-host Sunny Hostin emphasised that Epstein had turned down the offer in a separate message.

“And it looks like they said no thanks,” she explained.

Goldberg further clarified that she was neither a friend nor a girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein.

“This is my point because, when I tell you people are trying to turn me into…’ she said. ‘I wasn’t his girlfriend. I wasn’t his friend.”

She also added, “People actually believe that I was with him. It’s like, honey, come on. Every man I’ve ever been with, you’ve known about ’em because either The Enquirer wrote about it, people wrote about this stuff.”

The Epstein files are a partly released collection of millions of documents, videos, photos and emails explaining the activities and social circle of American financier and convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
