Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) is expanding and growing stronger under the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
He said the president’s leadership style has helped the party’s expansion.
Radda said this while speaking at the North-West Zonal Public Hearing on the Amendment of the APC Constitution, held in Katsina State.
“I was at the forefront of the establishment of the APC, and today, I am proud to host this important event on the review of our party’s constitution here in Katsina. It is important for us to respect the leadership of our great party, those who made us what we are today,” he said.
He commended President Tinubu’s leadership, noting that the APC continues to expand its influence and membership nationwide under his watch.
He prayed for divine guidance for the President and the party to achieve greater success in the years ahead.
Radda affirmed that the APC remains the dominant political force in Katsina State, boasting all 34 members of the State House of Assembly, 34 local government chairmen, 361 councillors, three senators, and 15 members of the House of Representatives, without a single seat occupied by the opposition.
He expressed confidence that the same feat would be replicated in the 2027 elections, assuring that President Tinubu will be re-elected by the will of the people.
He, however, described the amendment process as both necessary and timely, emphasising that the party’s constitution must be periodically reviewed to reflect current realities and strengthen internal democracy.
The governor further explained that the constitutional amendment is not merely procedural but anchored on principles aimed at deepening democracy within the party and across the nation.
He urged participants at the hearing to engage in constructive dialogue and contribute meaningful ideas that would form the foundation of a renewed and stronger APC constitution.
Radda also assured the amendment committee of his administration’s full support and expressed appreciation for their efforts toward strengthening the party’s democratic structures.
