Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has explained why he enjoys signing players from Chelsea. Noni Madueke became the eighth player to cross the London divide to the Emirates during Arteta’s tenure.

Madueke’s transfer was met with backlash from Gunners’ supporters, who were not impressed by Raheem Sterling, the last player to arrive from Chelsea. However, Arteta has defended his decision to consistently bring in players from the rival club.

He told reporters: “Probably because they have some great players, and a lot of players. We try to focus on the players we want to sign regardless of the club. With Noni, I’m very excited. He needs a break now, but he will be with us soon, showing what he will bring to the team.”
