Because Pampanga is nicknamed the Christmas capital of the Philippines! There are lots of exciting things to see and experience in this beautiful Southeast Asian province. What other way to commemorate Christmas than in a place that breathes and lives it? Locals say it is one of the most interesting places to experience Christmas in the Philippines. From the vibrant well lit Christmas atmosphere, iconic landmarks to melodic music and variety of delicious delicacies there’s lots of exciting activities for everyone.

Because Pampanga is considered deeply religious due to its strong catholic community, ideal for Yuletide! You can tour and gain knowledge from places like Betis, recognised for its affluent artistry. While a centre for artisans in the area Betis is also famous for producing several priests. While there, enjoy a tour of the baroque styled 17th century church, Saint James the Apostle Parish. Also, soak your curiosity in the province’s enthralling  native cultural beliefs and traditions that are still held dearly. All of this together depict a compelling sense of faith and tradition.

Places like the Saint Guillermo Church, popularly called ‘the half buried church’ will blow your mind away. The ancient building is literally half-buried by volcanic mudflow from Mount Pinatubo’s 1991 eruption. It showcases a museum of the church’s rich history. The building speaks of unwavering faith as it is still an active place of worship in spite of the natural disaster that befell it.

Because, Pampanga is riddled with beautiful distinct parks and you can have your pick! You can explore the Clark Safari Adventure Park and see the wild animals, the Airforce City Park to increase your knowledge on the former aircraft’s used by the Philippine Airforce. There’s also the Sky Ranch San Fernando amusement Park, complete with its symbolic ferris wheel giving you a view of the city! Bursting with colourful lights and rides, visitors to the park suggest it’s a good place to bond with family and friends and why not?

Because Mount Arayat is a unique place to visit! It is an isolated stratovolcano with a fascinating folklore behind it. It has a breached crater on its top at an elevation of 3,366 feet. The stratovolcano is said to be possibly active. However that does not mean it’s not safe to visit. You can also indulge at its National Park side, with recreational spots to enjoy! Are you brave and enjoy a good hiking adventure? It offers an adventurous hiking trail. Go along with a guide and take in the Arayat-Magalang traverse, which showcases  sweeping views. Something else that’s interesting is that it was also a hiding area for Filipino guerrillas in WorldWar II.

Because Insectlandia at Clarkland is a place to be if you love bugs! Go on an adventure viewing all the giant sculpture of various insects on display and learning more about them at the insect museum within. You can even interact with these mechanical creatures that are a copy of every day insects. Insectlandia has a beautiful picnic ground and where children can play. So, take a walking tour and embrace this unique insect land with family.

Because Fields Avenue situated in Angeles City, Pampanga, popularly called ‘Walking Street’ is the hub for vivacious night life! It offers entertainment areas, clubs, restaurants, shops and lots of activities to get you instantly spirited away. Being a nightlife hub, you can find a few restaurants that are open 24 hours. Fields Avenue is also popular for its large number of Korean restaurants. If you’re the adventurer, night life enthusiast or social butterfly, this might just be the place to add to your bucket list of holiday experiences. But be aware, according to reports, there are some parts of the street undergoing construction, so plan your trip and expectations accordingly.
