Wike Appoints Olayinka SSA On Public Communication, Social Media

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has appointed Mr. Olalere Olayinka as senior special assistant on public communications and social media.

A statement signed by the director of press to the minister said Olayinka, a media and communications expert,  has over 20 years of diverse experience in journalism, public relations and media management.

Throughout his career, he has held various positions in both public and private sectors which have equipped him with the requisite skills for his new role.

Highlights of Mr. Olayinka’s career include, CEO of Our Peoples FM, Ado-Ekiti and publisher of Wazobia Reporters Online.

He was also a special assistant on public communications to the governor of Ekiti State from 2014 to 2018.

Olayinka was also the director-general of the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State from 2014 to 2018.

He also served as media adviser to the minister of state for works in 2018, and was the publisher and editor-in-chief of Class Magazine from 2003 – 2007.

According to the statement, Olayinka was born on October 1, 1972 in Okemesi, Ekiti State and got his journalism diploma from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos.
