Determined to transform a disappointing first half into a triumphant second, Wikki Tourists have pledged a resurgent campaign when the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) resumes.

The historic Bauchi-based club, is using the mid-season interval to recalibrate and refocus its ambitions for the remaining fixtures.

The team’s management openly acknowledged that their first-round performance fell short of expectations. Accumulating 23 points from 19 matches, Wikki secured only five victories, alongside eight draws and six defeats. This record has left them in 14th place on the 20-team log—a precarious position they are intent on improving dramatically.

“We have conducted a thorough review of our initial stanza,” a statement from the club read. “While there were moments of promise, consistency eluded us. We remain unwavering in our commitment to our supporters. Our objective is to return stronger, play with renewed purpose, and give our loyal fans far more to celebrate in the crucial months ahead.”

To facilitate this turnaround, the squad has begun a structured five-day mid-season break. This period is designed for both physical recuperation and mental refreshment for players and technical staff, allowing them to distance themselves briefly from the pressures of the season before a final push.

The entire touring party is mandated to reconvene on Sunday, January 4, 2026, for what promises to be an intensive pre-second-round training camp.

The focus will be on shoring up defensive solidity, converting draws into wins, and building the momentum needed to climb the table and challenge for a spot in the season-ending championship playoffs.

All eyes will now be on Bauchi to see if the Elephants can translate their pledge of strength into points on the pitch.
