Women Farmers Advancement Network (WOFAN) has donated water project to cater for 500,000 households in Kudai community of Jigawa State.
In her welcome remarks, the founder, Hajia Salamatu Garba, said the commissioning of the Women and People Living with Disabilities (PWD) center and the community water project was donated in commemoration of 2024 World Peace Day.
The event also featured the distribution of 24 tricycle carriers for loaders and transporters and a new solar-powered water source valued at N18 m, featuring 12 water points in various areas of Kudai and neighbouring communities.
“This initiative aims to address the water needs of over 500,000 households within our esteemed community of Kudai and neighbouring regions, who have relied on a dilapidated open well for over a century—a well now increasingly threatened by erosion,” she said.
