NCS Worker Kills Colleague Over Food

A Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) worker, Kabiru Abubakar, allegedly killed his colleague, Aliyu Chiroma, in a dispute over food in Burra, Ningi local government area of Bauchi State.

LEADERSHIP Weekend gathered that the deceased was a close friend of Abubakar.

A dispute ensued between the two when Chiroma brought launch to eat but Abubakar insisted on eating with him against his wish, which spurred a heated confrontation between them.

An eyewitness who does not want to be named said, “They exchanged words, which quickly escalated into a fight. Kabiru head butted Aliyu, causing him to fall to the ground. The commotion attracted the attention of nearby people.”

Chiroma was rushed to General Hospital Burra but died later.
Confirming the incident, the spokesman of Bauchi NCS, Aminu Ahmed, said the incident however occurred outside the Correctional facility.

He added that the deceased hailed from Giade local government area, while the suspect, Kabiru Abubakar, is from Dass local government area, adding that both were posted to Burra Correctional Center.

Ahmed said the body of the deceased was handed over to his family for burial.

Chairman of Ningi local government area, Nasiru Zakari who also confirmed the incident, saying he received the report.
