Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Tolu Arokodare has joined Ajax on a season-long loan, with the Dutch club securing an option to make the deal permanent for €18 million.
The Eredivisie side will cover the 25-year-old’s full wages during the loan period, which runs until the summer of 2027.
“Ajax have reached an agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers regarding the loan signing of Tolu Arokodare. The 25-year-old striker joins Ajax on a one-season loan deal until the summer of 2027. The agreement includes an option to buy for Ajax,” the Eredivisie club announced on their official website.
Arokodare, who moved to Wolves from Genk last summer, had been linked with Fiorentina and Genoa before finalising the switch to Amsterdam.
Ajax technical director Jordi Cruijff praised the signing, saying: “With Tolu, we are bringing in a striker with a profile that we did not previously have in the squad. He is a physically strong player who has already proven himself to be a goalscorer.”
The Nigerian forward began his professional career in 2019 with Latvian side Valmiera FC.
