A woman identified as Mallama delivered twin baby boys at an empowerment programme held on Sunday evening in Birnin Kebbi, attended by Governor Nasir Idris and his Wife, Zainab Nasare.
A multitude of women gathered under the auspices of a Non-Governmental Organisation,” Mu gudu tare, mu tsira tar”, who converged on the Haliru Abdu Stadium, Birnin Kebbi, to raise financial support for profitable ventures.
Immediately, the announcement of the birth was made, the member of the House of Representatives, Suru/Bagudo Federal Constituency, Bello DallatunKa’ojee, donated N5 million to the nursing mother for their healthcare needs and naming ceremony.
The woman came to the event in search of succour, when all of a sudden she went into labour and delivered male twins.
The mother and her babies were subsequently evacuated from the Stadium to the Hospital to undergo further medical care.
At the event, the Chairman of the Kebbi Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Faruk Aliyu Yaro Enabo, donated 1,000,000 wrappers to the association for distribution to its members to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
In addition, he announced a donation of N30 million to the women on behalf of himself and his associates, as well as a vehicle to the organisation’s leaders.

The member of the National Assembly, Suru/Bagudo, Bello DallatunKa’ojee, announced a total donation of N86 million on behalf of himself and other personalities, including Sen Atiku.
Bagudu and Sen. Muhammad Adamu Alieru, who gave N20 million each, while Sen. Yahaya ABDULLAHI donated N10 million.
Governor Nasir Idris donated N100 million on behalf of the Kebbi State Government, thanking women for their unflinching support to him and the administration, which facilitated his victory at the polls and the successes recorded.
Kebbi First Lady, Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris, expressed her appreciation to her husband for developing several empowerment programmes for women to uplift their standard of living.
More than N300 million was realised on the occasion, which would be utilised to provide capital to women to engage in profitable commercial activities for economic prosperity.
