A woman has been confirmed dead, while scores sustained varying degrees of injuries in a collapsed three-storey building that partially caved in on the occupants in Lagos State.

It was gathered that the deceased woman was passing-by when the structure occupied by many people partially collapsed on the occupants.

It was further learnt that the building erected on No. 5 Alli Street in Ita Faaji axis of Lagos Island was said to have collapsed on Tuesday shortly after the rainfall recorded across the state.

As of the time of filing this report, the state emergency officials including the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos State Fire Service and Rescue Service and others were at the scene to rescue the injured victims.
