Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has offered his analysis following his side’s surprising 1-1 draw against Morocco in their opening World Cup 2026 fixture on Sunday.

Morocco took a first-half lead through Ismael Saibari, before Vinicius Junior netted the equaliser for the Seleção.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Ancelotti attributed his team’s struggles, particularly in the opening 45 minutes, to a lack of possession and an imbalance on the pitch.

“I think this match, especially the first half, was very difficult. Because I think the team was a bit too nervous, lost possession a lot, and lacked balance on the field,” Ancelotti stated.

He remained optimistic, however, adding: “The second half was much better. It was a difficult match, but the team will be better in the next game.”
