As the world marked World Teachers’ Day, the senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Sharafadeen Alli, stressed the need for increased support for teachers, calling on governments at all levels to prioritise policies that will improve their welfare, training, and working conditions.
He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that will uplift the teaching profession in Oyo State and Nigeria at large.
In a statement signed by his special adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, the lawmaker described teachers as invaluable assets to the nation, lauding their dedication to shaping the country’s future through education.
Alli emphasised teachers’ critical role in moulding young minds and advancing society.
He pointed out that educators were not just transmitters of knowledge but also mentors and role models whose impact often transcended the classroom.
According to him, teachers’ commitment to nurturing future leaders is the foundation of national development and growth.”
