Nigeria Wrestling Federation has congratulated Shehu Dikko and Bukola Olawale Olopade on their appointment as chairman and director-general of the National Sports Commission (NSC) respectively by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The federation, in a goodwill message by its president, Hon. Daniel Igali, on behalf of the Wrestling Fraternity, lauded the appointment of the two seasoned sports administrators by Tinubu.

Igali said Dikko as a former NFF vice-president and Olopade, a former commissioner for youth and sports in Ogun State signalled a rebirth and revival of sports development in the country.

“Dikko and Olopade are not new in the sports sector. They are distinguished men who have worn different caps to reposition sports.

“Having looked at their records over the years in the sports sector, we at the NWF have no doubt the duo possess the wisdom, knowledge and understanding to justify the confidence reposed in them by President Tinubu, in growing the Nigerian Sports.

“We believe that the sports sector in the country will take a new turn to soar under the leadership of Dikko and Olopade, and we pray God Almighty to guide and direct them aright,” the federation said.

It pledged to cooperate and collaborate meaningfully with the duo to harness the potential locked in wrestling to take it to the level of a thriving industry, capable of bringing more pride to the nation.
