XMOB, Mbagwu, Others Emerge Victors @ 2024 K-Pop Competition

An all-male dance group, XMOB, and Victory Mbagwu has emerged winners of the dance and singing categories of the 2024 K-Pop Festival held at Terra Kulture arena, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Victory Mbagwu whose song I Will Go To You Like The First Snow clinched her the first place in the singing category took home a cash prize of N400,000, while the dance group XMOB, winners of the festivals’ dance category were awarded N700,000 cash prize.

Other winners at the competition include, Femme Force, who placed second in the dance competition with a N500,000 cash prize and N200,000 in the Popularity Voice category. Mayowa Minner and Mac Whitney, places second and third in the singing category, with a N300,000 and N200,000 cash prizes respectively.

 

Earlier in the competition, judges and ambassadors of K-Pop, Seo Yae Ji and Jang Eu Jin, sang and danced energetically to the admiration of the audience.

Consul General, Republic of Korea, Lagos, Lee Sangho who noted that the festival has been ongoing for the past few years in Nigeria described the grand finale a success.

 

“As you saw, many Nigerian youths who are passionate and knowledgeable about K-Pop culture sang the song of one of our best stars and also danced brilliantly. All the winners deserve the gifts.

 

“The office of the Consul General as well as the cultural office are poised to develop the people through the essence and virtues K-Pop espouses.”
