Yabatech Researchers Secure N62.9m Grants

Two Yaba College of Technology (Yabatech) researchers have secured a total of N62.9 million in research grants from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) National Research Fund (NRF).

Dr. Emodi Anthony Izuchukwu and Dr. Akin Olaleru were awarded grants for their groundbreaking projects.

Dr. Izuchukwu’s project, “Transforming Marine Pollution into Art,” received N24.1 million. His team aims to creatively repurpose marine waste into art while promoting environmental sustainability and economic growth.
Dr. Olaleru’s research on “Fabrication and Optimization of Hybrid Perovskite Semiconductors” was awarded N38.8 million. This project is expected to drive advances in renewable energy and solar power technology.

According to the institution’s management, “This recognition underscores our commitment to producing research that not only pushes scientific boundaries but also delivers practical solutions to real-world problems.”

The grants highlight Yabatech’s growing influence in addressing national and global challenges through applied research, sustainability, and technological innovation.

The researchers’ success is a testament to Yabatech’s excellence and its commitment to driving transformative research that impacts society, industry, and the environment.
