Dr. Omobayo Taofeek Raheem, Director of the Center for Information, Communication, and Public Relations at Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), has advocated for widespread integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in learning and institutional practices.
Speaking during the 17th inaugural lecture titled “Capacitance of Artificial Intelligence Communication, Framing and Learning in a Growing Economy,” Raheem said AI now defines workplace dynamics, institutional practices, and social interactions.
“AI has reshaped work ethics and output expectations. Organizations that fail to adopt it risk falling behind. It boosts precision, speed, and productivity,” he said.
He described communication as essential to human and societal development and emphasized the interwoven nature of AI and communication in today’s world.
“AI must be embraced not just for automation, but to enhance human potential, creativity, and critical thinking,” Raheem noted.
On learning, he noted that education in the digital era cannot progress without AI. “AI is a master key in expanding learning, communication, and economic growth.”
Raheem added that AI could rejuvenate sectors crippled by poor leadership and corruption, depending on how each nation adopts the technology.
The lecture was attended by the Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Sefiu Ajani Oyebola, dignitaries, YABATECH Rector Dr. Ibraheem Abdul, other scholars, staff, and students.
