Yam Festival: Iloffa Community Seeks Roads Rehabilitation

The people of Ilofa Community in Oke-Ero local government area of Kwara have appealed to the state government for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of their township roads to improve agriculture and commercial activities in the area.

The Alofa of Iloffa, Oba Samuel Okinbaloye Aponbiepo ii, made the appeal in his remarks marking the year 2024 Yam Festival in the community.

Dada, who expressed displeasure over the deplorable state of roads in the community, said all efforts to ensure that the roads are given adequate attention had been taken.

He listed some of the communal projects in the community to include the official commissioning of the National Open University of Nigeria, (NOUN) Iloffa Study Centre, and the commissioning of the Iloffa Division of Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC).

Dada commended the Iloffa Traditional Council, the Iloffa Descendants Union (IDU) and other stakeholders for their efforts towards the growth, progress and socio-economic development of the community.

While urging the youths to be good ambassadors of the community, the monarch congratulated traders, artisans and farmers on the Yam Festival and prayed for more prosperous years ahead.

He expressed delight as the community witnessed another new yam festival, saying that the past years have been full of aspirations for progress and development for the community.
