The Pan Nigerian Young Professionals and Youth Leaders Council has declared support for National Security Adviser Malam Nuhu Ribadu, saying former Kaduna State governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai,  was trying to sow a seed of discord between the him and the president.

President-general of the group, Comr. Nwisabari Bani Samuel, who addressed newsmen in Abuja yesterday, said Nigerian youths were solidly behind Nuhu Ribadu and appreciated the progress being made by him in securing Nigeria.

He said Ribadu had demonstrated unwavering commitment to integrity, transparency and good governance throughout his illustrious career as the pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).  Comr. Nwisabari Bani Samuel, who is also the spokesman, chairman’s forum of the National Youth Council Of Nigeria (NYCN), said it was worth noting that the origin of the accusations that the NSA spoke about Mr. President while he was EFCC chairman could be traced to ulterior motives, including false whistleblowing directed at the then EFCC boss and possible external interference.

Nigerian Youths, he said, should stand resolute with Mallam Nuhu Ribadu as he is committed to continuing the work of safeguarding the lives and property of all Nigerians.

The Rivers State NYCN chairman therefore urged the media and the public to focus on the progress being made and the positive impact of his security initiatives, rather than being swayed by unfounded accusations. He said the security of Nigeria is Nigeria’s future and progress and should not politicised and any attempt to return to power through the back door would be resisted by the youths.
