Zamfara APC Begins Campaign Today, Bars Thugs

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State will begin its gubernatorial campaigns today at Kaura Namoda, the headquarters of Kaura Namoda local government area.

Briefing journalists on the campaign’s movement, head of directorate of publicity Gubernatorial Campaign Council, Alhaji Ibrahim Danmaliki, said APC banned political thugs carrying weapons from attending the rally.

According to him, the state government has directed Anti-Thuggery and security agents to arrest anybody found carrying dangerous weapons at the venue of the rally.

“We want to conduct a peaceful campaign devoid of any act of thuggery, so anybody caught with dangerous weapons would face the consequences”, he added.

According to him, APC was confident of victory in the forthcoming election as all the former governors and their supporters were working for the victory of the party at all levels.

“Let me categorically, state that Zamfara was APC controlled state as right from 1999, PDP never won Governorship election, stressing that, Mahmuda Shinfaki defected to PDP after winning ANPP ticket and Court gave Matawalle of them PDP, mandate after nullifying APC’s victory in 2019,” he declared.

Danmaliki explained that, after the kick off at Kaura Namoda, the campaign train would visit Baukara, the country home, Senator Ahmad Sani Yari, the first civilian Governor of the state.

The head of publicity directorate emphasised that, APC campaign train would visit all the 14 local government areas to solicit for support from the electorate.
