The First Lady of Zamfara State, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, on Friday championed support for Women Welfare as they transit to Holy Land urging all pilgrim to remain worthy Ambassadors of Nigeria.
A statement signed by Rabi Yusuf Press Secretary, Office of the First Lady, Zamfara State Government House, Gusau said prior to the send-off, the First Lady held a strategic meeting with the Chairman of the Zamfara State Hajj Commission, Alhaji Musa Mallaha and members of the Commission’s female volunteer group
“Demonstrating her commitment to the welfare of female pilgrims, the First Lady distributed hijabs to the women participating in this year’s exercise, ensuring they are well-supported for the spiritual journey.
“The meeting focused on streamlining logistics to ensure maximum comfort and proper coordination for pilgrims, with a particular emphasis on women. Discussions centered on transportation, welfare support and critical operational guidelines necessary for a seamless and hitch-free exercise.
Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, also urged the state’s intending pilgrims to serve as worthy ambassadors of both Zamfara and Nigeria as they depart for the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
She exhorted the pilgrims to uphold the values of patience, discipline, unity and exemplary conduct throughout their stay. She further encouraged them to use the sacred period to pray fervently for peace, stability and sustained progress in Zamfara State.
The First Lady commended the readiness and dedication of the Hajj Commission and its female volunteer group, assuring them of her administration’s continuous support toward a successful Hajj operation.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Zamfara State Hajj Commission, Alhaji Musa Mallaha, expressed his profound gratitude to the First Lady for her sustained support and devotion to the welfare of the state’s pilgrims. He noted that her timely interventions would greatly enhance the overall success of this year’s operations.
