Zamfara State governor Dauda Lawal will accompany President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the First Lady on a historic state visit to the United Kingdom from March 18 to 19, 2026.

According to his spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, the visit aims to strengthen bilateral relations and explore cooperation in immigration, trade, investment, and cultural exchange.

The Nigerian delegation will be hosted by King Charles at Windsor Castle, where they will view a special exhibition of Royal Collection items related to Nigeria, followed by a State Banquet in their honour.

President Tinubu is scheduled to meet UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer for expanded bilateral talks, culminating in the signing of memoranda of understanding covering trade, investment, defence, and cultural cooperation. He will also serve as guest of honour at the Nigerian Modernism exhibition and attend a reception with Nigerian and British business leaders and diaspora representatives.

“Governor Lawal’s participation is expected to create networking opportunities that could attract investment and economic benefits to Zamfara State,” Idris said.
