For the third consecutive year, a new champion is poised to emerge at the 2025 Zenith Bank/Delta Principals’ Cup, following the successes of Ogbe-Ijoh Grammar School, Warri South West, and Otokutu Grammar School, Ughelli South, who have both earned their places in this year’s final.
The annual tournament commenced on September 18, 2025, in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, and the finalists have now been confirmed.

In one of the semi-final matches held yesterday at Notre Dame College, Ozoro, the clash between Ogbe-Ijoh Grammar School, Warri South West, and Justice Peace & Success Academy, Aniocha South, ended in a dramatic 2-2 draw, leading to a penalty shootout. The thrilling penalties saw Ogbe-Ijoh emerge victorious, securing a 5-4 win.

The second semi-final at Government College, Ughelli, saw Otokutu Grammar School, Ughelli South, achieve a decisive victory over Urhobo College, Uvwie, winning comfortably with a score of 3-0.
The final is scheduled to take place at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, on Thursday, October 16. The day will commence with a third-place match between Justice Peace & Success Academy and Urhobo College, Uvwie, followed by the highly anticipated main event.

Over 1,000 secondary schools participated in the competition from the preliminary stages, all vying to dethrone the reigning champions, Ugbomro Secondary School, Ugbomro, who triumphed over Umutu Mixed School, Umutu, with a score of 2-0 in last year’s final.
