The 2026 Zenith Bank Team Tennis Tournament at Ikoyi Club 1938 has reached the semi-final stage, with Prestige Banking, Diaspora Banking, Zenith Aspire and Zenith Zeca securing places in the last four.
After three days of competitive action at the club’s tennis courts, Prestige Banking emerged top of the Red Group with 80 points, while Diaspora Banking finished runners-up with 76 points.
Zenith Aspire topped the Blue Group with 78 points, with Zenith Zeca claiming the second qualification spot on 74 points.
The semi-finals will see group winners Prestige Banking face Zenith Zeca, while Zenith Aspire take on Diaspora Banking for places in the final.
The ties will be decided in a best-of-three format comprising two singles and three doubles matches. Each singles victory is worth two points, while a doubles win carries three points.
Chairman of the Ikoyi Club Tennis Section, Victor Onyenkpa, said the semi-finals would test not only the players’ individual skills but also the teams’ tactical approach and ability to maximise points.
“These fixtures are too close to call, as in every good tournament. These four teams have shown that they know how to strategise and compete to get the desired results,” Onyenkpa said.
“With the finals in their sights, you can be certain that every player will be giving their best. I am excited at the tennis spectacle that we will be witnessing this evening, and wish all the teams the best of luck.”
The tournament is expected to climax with the final after the two semi-final winners emerge.
