Zimbabwe Name 24-Man Squad For Unity Cup Showdown Against Nigeria

Zimbabwe’s interim head coach, Kaitano Tembo, has announced a 24-player squad for the upcoming 2026 Unity Cup.

The group includes three goalkeepers, eight defenders, six midfielders, and eight attackers.

Only two locally based players made the cut: goalkeeper Future Sibanda and midfielder Mongameli Tshuma.

Assistant captain Marshall Munetsi returns to the national side after nearly five months away, following his controversial exclusion from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals squad by former coach Marian Marinica. Udinese defender Jordan Zemura is also back in the Warriors setup for the first time since November 2025.

Zimbabwe will take on Nigeria’s Super Eagles in the first semi-final of the friendly invitational tournament, scheduled for Tuesday, 26 May at The Valley in London.
