Borno State governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the appointment of Col. Yahaya Gambo (Rtd) as the coordinator of Borno State Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF).
A statement by the secretary to the state government, Bukar Tijani, stated that the appointment of a coordinator for CJTF is aimed at enhancing the efficiency of the force with a view to sustaining the fight against insurgency and consolidate the relative peace being enjoyed across the state.
The newly appointed coordinator is a retired Army Colonel who hails from Kaga local government and has vast experience in safety and security.
Col. Yahaya Gambo has expertise across risk management, conflict resolution, disaster management, and psychological first aid.
He has attained several military and security certifications, including courses in intelligence, tactical operations, and executive management, such as Chief of Staff at the Intelligence Support Command in Lagos.
Col. Gambo (Rtd) has held notable roles such as Chief Security Officer at Dangote Fertilizer Limited since 2018, where he designed and developed Standard Operating Procedures for corporate security.
The statement adds that the coordinator will operate under the Ministry of Information and Internal Security.
