He said the council had fixed Thursday (August 21) for the burial, but later, the family rescheduled it for Friday due to the conveyance arrangement of the late emir’s body from London to Zuru.

He added that Governor Nasir Idris, who was already in London hospital together with family members of the late monarch, is expected to lead the family to bring the corps home on Thursday.
Marafa further disclosed that a three-day prayer session for the soul of the late emir was conducted yesterday, which was attended by dignitaries from different parts of the state and around Nigeria.

According to him, the government’s delegation, led by the speaker of the state House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammed Ankwe, with the APC state chairman, Abubakar Muhammed Kana Zuru, and other party leadersC, had been in Zuru town since Monday for condolences and burial arrangements.

“We are waiting for the arrival of the body of the late emir unfailingly on Thursday from London, accompanied by the governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris and the emirate has fixed Friday Aug 22 for the funeral prayer which will take place at the Zuru Central Mosque immediately after Juma’at prayer before burying him in his grave same day,” the secretary said.
