1 Dies As N8.7m Cash Recovered At Accident Scene On Abuja-Kaduna Road

One person was confirmed dead while three others sustained varying degrees of injuries in a road crash that occurred on the Kaduna-Abuja expressway, Wednesday night.

Kaduna State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Kabir Nadabo, who confirmed the incidence said preliminary investigations attributed the incident to over-speeding, fatigue and loss of control.

Nadabo who made the disclosure to newsmen in Kaduna also confirmed that ₦8.7 million was recovered from the accident scene which occurred around 23:01hour at Olam Farms along the Kaduna-Abuja expressway on Wednesday.

The FRSC sector commander also revealed that the crash involved a Golf salon with registration number SBG 87 XB travelling from Minna, Niger State which rammed into an unnumbered trailer moving towards Kaduna.

“Initial investigation revealed that the cause of the crash was over speeding, fatigue and loss of control; a rescue team from RS1.16 Kakau conducted the rescue.

“Further investigation shows that six people were involved in the crash, three sustained varying degrees of injuries while the driver lost his life.

“The injured were conveyed to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital Kaduna for further treatment,” he said.

He further stated that the recovered ₦8.7 million was in the custody of the command pending the identification of the owner.
