No fewer than 150 track and field athletes will compete for honour at the inaugural edition of Richard Agbonifo Athletics Championship holding at the training pitch of Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

The event which will feature boys and girls who are fifteen years and under is being bankrolled by Germany-based Richard Agbonifo.

According to the organisers, arrangements have been perfected for a hitch- free one day event, saying the sponsor, Richard Agbonifo, was motivated to delve into track and fields after invested in handball in early this year by sponsoring all six of Abuja Municipal Area Council teams to the FCT Under 12 and 15 Boys and Girls Handball championships.

The organisers also revealed that various incentives such as training shoes, jerseys, and more will be given to the participating athletes.
