15th Emir Of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, Loses Mother-In-Law

The 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, has lost his mother-in-law, Hajiya Karima Lawal, popularly known as Yayar Gandu.

Hajiya Karima Lawal was the mother of Hajiya Hadiza Aminu Ado Bayero, wife of the emir. She died at a hospital in Kano after a brief illness.

Her death has attracted condolences from family members, associates and sympathisers within and outside the Kano Emirate.

She was described as a respected matriarch who dedicated her life to family and community service.

The late Hajiya Karima Lawal is survived by nine children and many grandchildren.

According to family sources, her funeral prayer will take place at the Nasarawa Mini Palace in the Nasarawa area of Kano at 4 p.m.today, Tuesday.
