2 Amotekun Officers Killed In Ondo Ambush

The Ondo State Security Network Agency, Amotekun Corps, has lost two of its officers in an ambush by suspected criminals in Akure North local government area of the state.

The corps’ spokesman, Jimoh Adeniken, in a statement yesterday said the incident occurred as the officers were coming out of their base along the Ago-Oyinbo farming area, around Ala Daadaa in Akure North.
According to him, the officers came under sudden attack from the assailants, resulting in a fierce exchange of gunfire.

Despite the resistance put up, Adeniken said two officers lost their lives in the attack, while another officer sustained injuries.

Following the incident, the Amotekun command immediately deployed reinforcements to the area to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
The corps also said it had intensified security operations, patrols and intelligence gathering within the affected area to prevent further attacks and reassure residents of the safety of their lives and property.

‎‎It said Ondo State governor, the corps commander and the management sympathised with the families, colleagues and loved ones of the fallen officers.
