The commission also assured it will be guided by merits as yardstick for selecting successful applicants.

Permanent Secretary of the Commission, Abubakar Maiha, stated this in an interview with LEADERSHIP in Yola, Adamawa State capital on Wednesday.

Maiha said the fairness would be in line with the directives of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, who mandated a level-playing ground in the recruitment exercise.

“We are committed to ensuring a fair and credible process for all applicants.

“This exercise is being conducted under the clear directive of His Excellency, Governor Fintiri, to uphold transparency and equal opportunity,” Maiha stated.

According to the Commission, over 20,000 applications were received within the first 24 hours of the portal opening, reflecting the high level of interest in the 4,000 available vacancies across various departments.

“The volume of applications prompted us to upgrade our systems to prevent glitches and to accommodate the surge in traffic,” Maiha added.

The application window will remain open for two weeks and successful applicants will be shortlisted for interviews and subsequent documentation in the weeks after.

The Commission urged all interested candidates to submit their applications promptly and avoid last-minute rush.

The governor had directed the commission to open the recruitment portal to employ 4,000 workers into the state workforce.
