2023: APC Progressive Young Women Forum Trains Female Voters
The leadership of APC Progressive Young Women Forum on Tuesday trained young female voters in the 36 states and the FCT on leadership.
The training, according to the national president of the APCPYWF, Seun Bosede Osamaye, is aimed at equipping them with adequate leadership skills for effective sensitisation and grassroots mobilisation for the 2023 elections.
National women leader of the All Progressives Congress, Dr Betta Edu harped on the importance of the role of young women in effective grassroots mobilisation for delivery of winning votes for the ruling party. She told the gathering that the success of the party in the 2023 elections will be largely determined by young people across the country.
Dr Betta also asked young women to take advantage of their advantage and massively mobilise votes for the presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2023 election.
In the same vein, the deputy national Women Leader of APC, Hon Zainab Ibrahim was in attendance to provide support and motivation to the young women participating in the training.
In her address, Osamaye said, “The transitional leadership in 2023 will be determined by young people, most especially first-time young voters with registration of over 18 million people. The task ahead is huge but not insurmountable.
“We will go all out to sensitize and mobilize our young female voters to come out in their millions to vote for our party, the APC, the Presidential candidate of the party, his excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Vice Presidential Candidate, his excellency, Senator Kashim Shettima come 2023.
“The pathway to electoral victory has just started and it begins with this effective leadership training on grassroots sensitization/Mobilization of Young female voters towards 2023.”
Speakers and facilitators were on ground to take the young women through the training, Mr Sunday Adgey spoke on the role of young Nigerian women in political leadership recruitment. Another speaker, Mr Sunday Alao discussed the topic, Young women and Party politics at the grassroots as effectual means of enhancing inclusive leadership.
Hon Ginika Toor spoke on Young Women’s sensitization as a major determinant of leadership mobilization in the Nigeria political sphere, while Hon Ayodele Ayotomiwa took the gathering through Political Inclusiveness: Enhancing Young Women’s Participation
Hon Imaan Suleiman after speaking on mass mobilization of young women in political participation as the right synergy for nurturing 21st-century leadership promised to give the female with highest votes in her polling unit in 2023 election a sum of one million naira, a borehole, and renovation of school in her community.
The training which was held at the Ekiti House (Former Nanex Suites), Central Area, Abuja had participants drawn from the state chapters of the APC PYWF represented by state representatives of respective states and the FCT.
