The 52nd Annual American Music Awards (AMAs) is ready to take place live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Monday, May 25, 2026.
The event, the largest music awards show voted for by fans, will be hosted by American rapper and actress Queen Latifah. This marks her return to the AMA stage 31 years after she first co-hosted the show in 1995.
Pop star Taylor Swift leads this year’s awards with eight nominations, including Artist of the Year. If she wins in all her categories, she will tie music legends Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston for the most wins in a single night. However, reports indicate that Swift will not attend the event in person.
Other top nominees for the night include Sabrina Carpenter, Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, and Sombr, each with 7 nominations.
The show will feature performances from top stars like BTS, The Pussycat Dolls, Busta Rhymes, Keith Urban, and Karol G.
Additionally, rock icon Billy Idol will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award, while country singer Darius Rucker will be honoured with the Veterans Voice Award for his support of military organisations.
