Speaking at the event, Abbas described Ike as an experienced politician and grassroots leader with the capacity to complement his vision of providing purposeful leadership for Nigeria.
He said the decision to pick Ike followed extensive consultations within the party and was aimed at presenting Nigerians with a credible alternative in the 2027 presidential election.
According to the ADP presidential candidate, the party is committed to tackling the country’s economic challenges, improving security, creating jobs and promoting transparent and accountable governance if elected into office.
Abbas urged Nigerians to support the ADP ticket, saying the party was determined to offer practical solutions to the nation’s challenges through responsible leadership.
In his acceptance remarks, Ike thanked the party leadership and the presidential candidate for finding him worthy of the nomination.
He pledged to work closely with Abbas to build a united, prosperous and secure Nigeria, assuring party members and supporters that the ADP would run an issue-based campaign focused on the welfare of Nigerians.
He also called on Nigerians to look beyond ethnic, religious and regional considerations in the 2027 elections and support leaders with the capacity and vision to move the country forward.
