Action Peoples Party (APP) has adopted the “Big Elephant” as its logo, a move ratified during yesterday’s national convention in Abuja.

The convention, which was closely monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), saw party stakeholders enthusiastically embrace the new symbol as a representation of strength, growth, and resilience.

The party’s national chairman, Barrister Uche Nnadi, announced the decision to party members, explaining that the elephant embodies its mission to take on more significant political challenges and expand its influence across Nigeria.

“The elephant represents strength, determination, and readiness. We are poised to wrestle power from more states in the 2027 general elections,” Nnadi declared.

Highlighting the party’s recent electoral success, the chairman pointed to APP’s landmark victory in the Rivers State Local Government Elections, where the party secured 22 out of 23 chairmanship seats and 314 out of 319 councillorship positions.

He described the victory as a strong signal that the APP is fast becoming a formidable force in Nigerian politics. “This achievement reflects the trust the people have placed in us and is proof that we are on the right path,” he said.

The APP also made inroads in Jigawa State, securing a councillor seat—an accomplishment that, though modest, reflects the party’s growing national appeal.

Nnadi noted that the APP’s fast rise is a testament to its message of hope, integrity, and grassroots transformation, which resonates with Nigerians.

As part of the party’s long-term strategy, the convention announced plans for a comprehensive constitutional amendment to strengthen internal structures and activate key organs, including the Board of Trustees.

“We are repositioning the APP to ensure our structures are not just operational but responsive to the needs of our members and the Nigerian people,” Nnadi explained.

The APP also unveiled its new official website, designed to promote transparency, facilitate online membership registration, and serve as a central hub for updates on party activities and initiatives.

According to Nnadi, the platform reflects the party’s commitment to modernisation and inclusivity.

“We are the Big Elephant party, and we are ready to take over Nigeria,” Nnadi concluded, urging members to build on the party’s current momentum ahead of the 2027 polls.
