The Executive Director Housing Finance and Accounts, Federal Housing Authority, Abuja, Mathias Terwase Byuan, has formally resigned his appointment to contest Benue State governorship election against Governor Hyacinth Alia in 2027.
Byuan, one of the loyalists of Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, had previously indicated interest to contest on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as he may dump the party and move to another one if he is not sure of getting the governorship ticket.
In a letter of resignation addressed to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Byuan said he was resigning to enable him pursue his Governorship ambition to rescue Benue people “from insecurity, poverty, and bad leadership if elected”
Byuan expressed gratitude to the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for giving him the opportunity to contribute his quota in addressing daunting challenges in the housing sector.
He also thanked the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume for his sterling leadership which has endeared him to the people and pledged his continued loyalty and support.
Byuan expressed satisfaction with the cordial relationship that existed between him and his colleagues in the management, “led by the Managing Director, Federal Housing Authority,Chief Oyetunde Ojo, staff of the Directorate of Housing Finance and Accounts and the entire staff of the Federal Housing Authority” which he said enabled him to achieve remarkable success.
