The Grassroots Mobilization Network (GMN) , a political support group of African Democratic Congress, ADC, has urged Nigerians to reject President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, describing the recently constituted campaign council as self-serving and detached from the hardships confronting citizens.

GMN a statement by its National Secretary, Peter Okoye, the group said Nigerians should not expect meaningful change from what it described as an assemblage of individuals who had failed to provide solutions to the country’s worsening economic and security challenges.
GMN argued that a presidency genuinely concerned about the plight of Nigerians would have assembled a more progressive and forward-looking team capable of addressing the deteriorating socio-economic conditions in the country.

“This same group of people who have failed to make a meaningful impact during the tenure of this administration cannot fashion a fresh agenda capable of taking our nation out of its current anguish,” the statement said.

The group also questioned the credentials and records of some members of the campaign council, alleging that several individuals who had previously served in public office had yet to demonstrate sufficient commitment to the common good.

It urged Nigerians to scrutinise the composition of the council and reject what it described as an attempt to deploy political machinery to perpetuate policies that had deepened hardship, hunger and insecurity.

“It is a self-serving group that has been brought together to serve personal interests,” GMN said.

The organisation further urged Nigerians to remain vigilant, demand accountability and carefully assess the records of politicians seeking their support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
