Ahead of the 2027 elections, a renown political figure in Gombe State and governorship aspirant, Engineer Aliyu Mohammed alias ‘Kombat’ has withdrawn from the contest for governor of the state.
The politician, known for his dedication to humanitarian work through his foundation, Velocity Humanitarian Foundation, cited personal commitments and responsibilities as the reason behind his choice.
In a press statement released on Monday, the politician said he took the decision after consultation with his political associates, friends and mentors.
He acknowledged the disappointment his decision might cause to his lovers and support groups, but emphasised the need to focus on other important engagements.
“At this point in my journey, I am committed to several important engagements and responsibilities that require my complete focus and personal attention. “Your confidence and trust mean more than words can express”, he said placating his supporters.
The politician reassured his supporters that his decision would not affect his commitment to the All Progressives Congress (APC) or the Velocity Humanitarian Foundation, which he promised would continue to deliver its mission of providing interventions and empowerment to the vulnerable.
