A member of the House of Representatives, representing Vandeikya/Konshisha federal constituency, Hon. Sesoo Gboko Ikpagher, has said he was not against the re-election of Benue State governor, Hyacinth Alia, for a second term.
Ikpagher, who left the camp of Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume and returned to Governor Alia’s camp said he is now supporting the governor 100 percent to win 2027 governorship elections.
Addressing members of Jechira Development Association (JEDA), in Makurdi on Monday, Ikpagher described the insinuations in some quarters that he was working against the vision of governor Alia administration as false and mischievous.
He accused some political jobbers of promoting hate against him to gain favour from governor Alia.
“I have a dual relationship with Governor Hyacinth Alia, my mother having come from Mbangur with him. I have no business fighting the governor. I have not insulted him at no point in time”, Ikpagher stated.
Ikpagher while insisting that Benue state APC is one and under the leadership of governor Alia called on members to join hands to foster unity and development of the state.
The federal lawmaker who said his political difference with the Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Aondowase Kunde has been resolved.
In his part, the Benue state Commissioner of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Aondowase Kunde, commended Ikpagher for retracing his steps to the right track, noting that governor Alia is embracing the people of Konshisha as seen in the appointments and infrastructural development of the area.
