Key political stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State have assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of a total victory in the 2027 general election, declaring that the party now enjoys full acceptance across the three senatorial zones of the state.

The assurance was given on Wednesday during a courtesy visit to the President, where the delegation said Kaduna is “battle ready” to deliver a landslide win for Tinubu and all APC candidates.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, described the visit as an opportunity to brief the President on the progress of the party in the state.

According to him, the APC has moved from limited acceptance in previous political cycles to becoming the dominant party across Kaduna North, Central and South.

“We are here to just pay a courtesy visit to Mr. President, our father, to brief him about the progress of APC in Kaduna, and to tell him that APC has been accepted 100 per cent in all the nooks and crannies of Kaduna,” Abbas said.

He added that unlike in the past when the party’s strength was largely confined to two zones, recent political developments have expanded its reach.

“In the other dispensations, Kaduna has not been too lucky for APC because the acceptability of APC was just limited to zone one and zone two. But because of the ingenuity of our governor, he has been able to reach out to zone three, which used to be predominantly PDP, to come and join us in APC, and today the story is APC is the dominant party in all the three zones,” he said.

Abbas further cited the recent defection of Senator Sunday Marshall Katung from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, alongside other lawmakers, as evidence of the party’s growing strength in the state.

“Not quite two months ago, Distinguished Senator Sunday Marshall decamped from PDP to join us in APC, along with all the other representatives and House of Assembly members from the PDP extraction,” he said.

Also speaking, Senator Katung, who represents Kaduna South Senatorial District, said the visit was to reaffirm the state’s commitment to the APC and the President ahead of the next election cycle.

“We just came here to assure Mr. President that Kaduna is prime for the APC in 2027,” he said.

He noted that ongoing political efforts are aimed at consolidating support by engaging those yet to align with the ruling party.

“We’ve done our homework and we are still working, trying to woo those who are still sitting on the sidelines to ensure that they come and embrace the APC,” Katung added.

The senator also pointed to federal government interventions in his senatorial district as a key factor driving support for the party.

“We’ve seen what the President has done, particularly for my senatorial district; he has given us a university, he has given us a Federal Medical Centre, and the governor has done so many projects in our senatorial district that never used to happen before. That shows inclusiveness and that’s why we are embracing the APC wholeheartedly,” he said.

On his part, Senator Shehu Sani said the political alignment across Kaduna State marks a historic shift, with both the Muslim-dominated North and the predominantly Christian South now united under the APC.

“This is the first time in the history of our state where the Muslim North and the Christian South are all united and resolved to re-elect Governor Uba Sani and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” he said.

He attributed the development to what he described as verifiable achievements recorded by both the federal and state governments in the last two and a half years.

“We have seen the intervention by the federal government in all areas — in health, in education, in infrastructure — and the governor of the state has been able to build bridges between the North and the South. He runs an all-inclusive government,” Sani stated.

According to him, the renewed unity in the state is rooted in a shared appreciation of these interventions and a commitment to sustain them through electoral support.

“Kaduna State was the old capital of Northern Nigeria, and since 1999 the northern part of the state has been voting APP, CPC and APC, while the southern part has been voting PDP. But now the people of the state are united and determined to show appreciation in the next election,” he said.

Sani added that both Governor Uba Sani and President Tinubu have given Kaduna State “a new lease of life” compared to the period before 2023.

“Our presence here is to assure Mr. President that we will do everything possible, using the factors on the ground, the projects on the ground, the achievements that have been made, to ensure that we pay back for all that he has done to us,” he said.
