Northern groups under the auspices of North West Enlightenment and Mobilisation Initiative (NEM) yesterday criticised the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for what it termed they sustained deception of the masses.
In a statement signed by Muhammad Ibrahim Muhammad, enlightenment and mobilisation initiative officer in Gusau, the groups said “the people of Zamfara State have grown to hate the APC. Across northern Nigeria and the entire country, the Nigerian masses believe the president has failed woefully. Trust in the APC has collapsed and the PDP offers no real alternative. ”
“The people of Zamfara State, having experienced both the APC and the PDP in rapid succession, may well be in the mood for another experiment. There is a growing sense of fatigue, a feeling that neither of the dominant parties has fully delivered on its promises. The people are tired of being deceived.
They want something new, something honest, something different,” it stressed.
Muhammad said, “A third force narrative can gain traction, and in Zamfara where political tides shift with remarkable speed, that may be all that is needed to stage yet another upset. We agree completely. The ADC and Senator Marafa, as a candidate, are well positioned to defeat both the APC and the PDP. Insha’Allah, victory will come.
“We call on all well‑meaning people of Zamfara State – youth, women, farmers, traders, civil servants, traditional rulers, and religious leaders – to rise and support Senator Kabir Garba Marafa for governor in 2027. We call on the senator himself to stand tall, for he has already declared his intention, and now is the time to mobilize. This is not about party loyalty; it is about breaking a cycle of failure.
“It is about giving Zamfara a leader who has proven he cannot be bought, intimidated, or silenced. By the special help of Allah, this is his turn. Do not be deceived by defectors and party hoppers. They do not love Zamfara; they love power. Senator Marafa loves Zamfara. He has proven it with his actions, not just his words,” he said.
